Architects in Warwick

‘We had a great experience working with Jonathan Darcy as our architect. Before contacting Jonathan, we had previously submitted an unsuccessful application, so we were understandably cautious about the process.

From the outset, Jonathan was personable, approachable, and clearly very knowledgeable about the planning process and the potential pitfalls involved. With his experience and guidance, he professionally led us through a Class AA application and then on to full planning approval, resulting in a successful outcome.

Jonathan truly went above and beyond at every stage. He was always readily available to speak, quick to respond to questions, and consistently provided clear, thoughtful advice. His expertise and attention to detail gave us real confidence throughout.

Thanks to his guidance, we arrived at a full re design with an additional floor to our bungalow that will transform our home. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable, and dedicated architect.’

Design and Planning in Warwick

Warwick District combines very different architectural contexts, from historic Warwick and Regency Leamington Spa to Kenilworth, suburban neighbourhoods and areas of Green Belt.

The Planning Team place a strong emphasis on context, scale, streetscape, amenity and local character. Within Conservation Areas, this becomes particularly important, with extensions and alterations expected to respond carefully to the host building and wider setting.

Green Belt sites can also require detailed assessment. Previous extensions, the size of the original dwelling and cumulative floorspace increases can all influence whether a proposal is considered proportionate.

For small developments, infill sites and replacement dwellings, simply showing that a building fits physically on a site is rarely enough. The proposal needs to demonstrate why its scale, form and architectural language are appropriate to that location.

Our approach is to establish those planning parameters from the outset and develop the design around them.
